Mortality Sucks!

It's ultimately a great book on the theme of "Mortality Sucks!" -- a book about one of the most beautiful men in the world -- one of the most beautiful artists in the world -- ends up a shrunken wizened mess dying of AIDS in a Paris hospital room.  Rudolf Nureyev died on January 6, 1993 -- the last words anyone ever heard him speak were "Moby-Dick" -- which  he spoke in his hospital room while watching that movie on his tv -- he died two months later -- without ever speaking another word.

These were the words of Mikhail Baryshnikov (read by Jack Lang) at Nureyev's funeral -- "He had the charisma and the simplicity of a man of the earth and the untouchable arrogance of the gods."

Heck yeah!  I cried at the end of this book. And I bet most anybody would!  Rudolf Nureyev was such a hot sexy complex man -- incredible life and incredible beauty!

Remarkable book -- Nureyev: The Life by Julie Kavanagh -- highly recommend!
